It all begins with an idea.

Stratum Architecture Ltd was founded after Mohammed and his wife, Erna saw an opportunity to help homeowners better understand the potential within their own properties.

Through Mo’s work in New Zealand’s residential building industry, it became clear that many people were unsure what could realistically be done with their backyard. Whether for a minor dwelling, a relocatable home, or a future investment. Rather than rushing into decisions, homeowners often just needed clear, early guidance. Stratum Architecture was created to offer that clarity.

The practice is led by Mohammed Nadeem, a Licensed Building Practitioner (LBP) and a full-time Architectural Designer, with hands-on experience across residential projects. Stratum Architecture operates as a part-time side hustle practice, allowing the advice given to remain practical, current, and closely connected to real-world construction outcomes.

Erna supports the business and assists behind the scenes, helping ensure each client experience is approachable, organised, and stress-free.

Together, they work with homeowners and property investors to explore feasibility, understand site constraints, and identify smart ways to unlock value often starting with a simple conversation. The focus is always on honest advice, realistic options, and helping clients move forward with confidence.
